General Finishes Water-Based Wood Stain in Sedona brings a rich, warm-toned finish to interior wood while allowing the natural grain to remain visible. Its medium-bodied, high-pigment formula spreads evenly and blends smoothly, offering workability similar to traditional oil-based stains with the benefits of low odor, low VOC content and easy soap-and-water cleanup. It is a versatile choice for furniture, cabinets, doors, trim and other interior wood-finishing projects.
Begin with clean, dry, properly sanded wood and remove dust before application. Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply with a synthetic-bristle or foam brush, staining pad, roller or suitable spray equipment, working in manageable sections and wiping away excess stain according to the manufacturer's instructions. Test the complete finishing process on a sample of the same wood species first, since surface preparation, wood grain, room lighting and the choice of protective topcoat can affect the finished color.
The stain is generally touch-dry after 30 minutes or longer on raw wood and may be recoated after at least 2 hours under ideal conditions. Allow longer drying in cool or humid conditions; allow at least 24 hours before applying an oil-based topcoat over the water-based stain. Approximate coverage is 100–150 square feet per quart, depending on wood porosity and application. Finish with a compatible protective topcoat for durability. Interior use only. Color: Sedona. Size: 1 Quart (946 mL). Always follow General Finishes' application instructions and safety guidance.
